Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance

Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance (TOA) was started by Dr. George Carpenter, Sr. in 1926 and has grown to become the largest and best orthopedic group in middle Tennessee. It is now home to 106 orthopedic surgeons at 22 different sites. TOA offers orthopedic services, physiatry, physical therapy, hand therapy, MRIs, CTs, and urgent care clinics.

Dr. Kurtz joined TOA in 2006 after he completed his joint replacement fellowship in Boston. He has served on the TOA regional board from 2014 to 2023 and TOA’s larger board from 2023 to the present. He was President of TOA in 2020 to 2023 and then rolled off due to term limits.
