Pick up your prescriptions

at your pharmacy

before your knee surgery

Knee replacement patients will need a few medications (pain medicine, blood thinner, etc.) after their surgery. Patients may pick up their prescriptions at their pharmacy before or after their surgery. Some patients prefer to get this errand completed before their surgery, so they don’t have to worry about having pain medicine around when they first get home. Other patients prefer to see how much pain medicine they need after their surgery, so they can adjust the strength of their pain medicine while in the hospital and go home with the same medication. Either approach is fine with us.

If you wish to pick up your medication at your pharmacy before your surgery, then please complete this form at least 2-3 days before your surgery. Be sure to “submit” the form after you complete it. Dr. Kurtz or Katie will e-prescribe your prescriptions to your pharmacy during normal business hours. You can then pick up your medication before your knee surgery.
